REFERRALS

Shelters:

No referral needed! Intakes are done daily as beds become available. Potential shelter guests can stop by the shelter to inquire during intake hours.

For the Beacon and Haven 24-hour shelters, intakes are conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Crosswalk overnight shelter begins its intake process at 9:00 p.m. All three shelters are situated at 108 E Hastings.

During the winter months, our Anchor shelter serves as a cold wet weather shelter. Intake procedures for the Anchor start at 9:00 p.m. The Anchor shelter is located at 119 E Cordova, and clients are requested to line up at the food line gate.

Detox:
There are many ways to connect with detox services. Candidates can refer themselves. Candidates can ask a loved one to help them with their referral. Candidates can be referred by another community agency, or through Access Central.

• Direct Intake: ask about a walk-in bed by ringing the doorbell at 119 East Cordova, or call (604) 646-6844.
• Access Central Referral: call Access Central at 1-866-658-1221 for a telephone assessment and to book a detox intake appointment. Please note: Individuals who mostly use alcohol, have a history of seizures, or who are currently pregnant must call Access Central, to be assessed for a referral to the most suitable detox centre.

Treatment:
Potential treatment clients can initiate their own application. Individuals can include loved ones in their referral / intake process as long as the potential client is an active participant in the process.

Community agencies, court workers, correctional staff, and other service providers, please contact our Intake Counsellor to arrange a release of information if you would like to participate in the referral / intake process.

Please see our Treatment Intake page for detailed information about our intake and referral process. Candidates can also download the intake referral form.

Community Residential Facility (halfway house):
Individuals currently incarcerated should speak with their IPO for more information about their specific parole needs and Harbour Light’s requirements.

Potential candidates for acceptance are encouraged to take the initiative to contact Harbour Light, by mail. This allows you an opportunity to provide additional information to be considered during the screening process, or ask questions about our facility and programs. Please, no phone calls.

McCready is not currently accepting referrals.
