FOOD DONATIONS

The Salvation Army Vancouver Harbour Light is grateful for the generosity of the Lower Mainland’s farmers, producers, grocers, distributorships, and restaurants. Food donations help us support increased food security throughout the Lower Mainland, by reducing food waste and improving access to nutritious meals.

Our donors tell us that participating in our Food Donation Program benefits their business by reducing their waste and lowering disposal costs. They feel proud to play a role in improving food security in the community. Some donations are eligible for charitable tax receipts, and farmers may also benefit from the BC farmers’ food donation tax credit. Donors are protected from liability by British Columbia’s Food Donor Encouragement Act.

If you would like to become a partner in our Food Distribution Program, please contact Regional Food Distribution Manager, David Yang at (604) 910-1129/David.Yang@salvationarmy.ca or Loading Dock Supervisor, George Richards at (604) 220-2438 for more information.
