Meal Service - Christmas in January 2018 800x300

COMMUNITY MEALS

Our community meal program provides free, nutritious meals for up to 200 men, women, and children at each service. Our meals are open to everyone! Join us for a meal at one of our seven weekly meal services:
• Monday to Friday 11:00am
• Saturday 4:00pm

We will be hosting our 2024 Christmas Community Meals on Wed, Dec 25th, 11-1pm (doors close at 12:30pm)! See you there!

We do not host or require a sermon or other religious service before our meals. We do say a very quick grace before each meal service begins, to give thanks for a good meal and a caring community.

Programs like ours are sometimes referred to as feeding ministry, food lines, or soup kitchens. We prefer the term community meal. We hope that our guests will find more than just a meal in our dining room, meeting new friends and strengthening existing connections as they share time together.

Our community meals are made possible through the generosity of our donors and volunteers.

We give thanks for the farmers, producers, processors, and retailers who support our food procurement program, reducing food waste and improving food security in our community.

We give thanks for the individuals and groups who serve hope as volunteers at our daily and holiday community meal services.

Prepping for Community Meals

Packing pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving.

Handing out meals and Chinese pastries during CNY.

One of the ways you can give is by sponsoring a meal! When you sponsor a meal at Harbour Light, you help to serve hope to our community meals guests and our residents. We have a range of dishes you can choose from in our Community Meals Sponsorship Menu. Each sponsorship is designed to serve our community meals guests and residential clients (approximately 400 plates). You can sponsor as an individual or as a group. Please contact Cindy Cheung, Community Engagement Coordinator at Cindy.Cheung@salvationarmy.ca if you are interested and we can send you a menu for your consideration. We are grateful for your support!
