Addiction Treatment

About our program
Harbour Light’s residential addiction treatment program builds a strong foundation for long-term recovery in a supportive, structured environment. Our treatment program is a licensed community care facility with Vancouver Coastal Health.
Every person is unique, which makes each client’s journey in recovery different. Our treatment program seeks to encourage each client to assess their behaviour and its impact, and support them in developing more effective strategies to meet their needs. Individualized treatment plans are developed as determined by these specific needs.

Recovery Program Foundations
Through a blended format of both group and individual counselling, our program aims to provide a safe environment in which individuals can begin the process of self-exploration with the objective of identifying the core issues that perpetuate substance abuse. Each week, clients participate in a wide range of electives, offering opportunities to learn more about anger and stress management, grief and loss, co-dependency, and other areas of personal development.
Spirituality is explored as a component of recovery, in alignment with the culture, traditions, beliefs, and curiosity of each individual client. Community service is a core component of our program, and each 90-day graduate is celebrated for completing volunteer service during their program!
Harbour Light believes that play is an important part of life in recovery! Clients are encouraged to be creative in our art and music electives, and to be physical active through our softball team and monthly out trips. Education and skills development opportunities are offered through our Learning Centre and in-house training programs.
Treatment Program FAQ
Help us help others
We’ve walked alongside thousands of people in their journey to recovery. The strength of our program is demonstrated in the lives of our program alumni. Approximately 35% of our employees are alumni of our programs, with 1-15+ years of sobriety. They offer a living encouragement and example to our clients – “if I can do it, so can you!”
We believe that finances should never be a barrier to recovery. You can help us improve access to treatment and recovery – your donation of just $70 helps subsidize a day in treatment for one person!
